JOEL McFADDEN DESIGNS

Heirloom Jewelry Restoration and Replication

Sometimes people love their jewelry so much that they wear it to death. If you're one of those people (like me) who wears your jewelry very hard, or if you've inherited a piece from someone who loved wearing jewelry every day, we are here to help you preserve the sentimental value in that piece of jewelry so that you can continue to enjoy wearing it.

Heirloom jewelry is tricky in that it often has old-style cut stones like old European-cut diamonds, mine-cut diamonds, rose-cut diamonds or fancy cut gems and synthetic/artificial gems. We will do everything we can to preserve the style of an original piece, including custom-alloying metals to match the antique gold color, and having original gems recut and/or polished or acquiring additional gems to replace lost or damaged ones. Oftentimes we can recreate engraving that has been worn away, too.

However, sometimes there is just too much wear/damage and there isn't enough metal for us to salvage. Sometimes we can replace the bits that are worn, but sometimes we just have to create a replica and move the stones into the "new" setting.

Here are a few of the pieces we have worked with...
