Our Staff
Our head goldsmith is Joel McFadden. He has been working in the jewelry business since he was 12 years old, which makes him one of the most experienced goldsmiths in this country! You would be hard pressed to find someone with as much skill and expertise as Joel. He is also a computer geek, which made the transition to CAD-based jewelry design a natural choice for JMD. His ability to convert your design ideas into CAD format is rivaled only by his ability to execute the design with precision and artistry. Jen McFadden is Joel's wife and business partner since 1993. Although her education and professional experience is as a lawyer, she has decades of retail experience and has learned how to hear what her customers are looking for even when they're not sure themselves!
Joel's apprentices are: Ian Goodchild, who came with us from Shelburne, Massachusetts, and has been working with us since 2004. Joel often remarks that Ian is the best he's ever seen with regard to torchwork and polishing; and Danielle Acerra, who is already an accomplished mural and portrait painter..
