Joel grew up in a family of jewelers. Tracing back his family line, he discovered the roots of Jewelry Making runs deep. The history of Goldsmiths in his family liniage runs back to the 1500's.
You could say he was born to be a jeweler. When he turned 12 years old, his grandfather started him on his way. Sitting on his grandfathers lap, he learned to set stones. Since then, Joel has risen to the top of the industry, winning dozens of awards for design and craftsmenship.
Joel is considered the first mentor jeweler, uniquely qualified to train aspiring jewelry designers, bench jewelers, and salespeople. His straightforward and patient approach makes collaboration with custom design clients an enjoyable experience for everyone involved, even those with no jewelry knowledge or experience.
Throughout his career, he has moved throughout the country and owned several jewelry stores. The thing that motivates him about the jewelry industry is the people: he loves working with clients and getting to know them as he designs for them.

Will McFadden - Goldsmith & JewelerWill McFadden, a fourth generation jeweler, began his journey into the jewelry world at age six, when his father, Joel, taught him how to set stones.
He decided to make a career of it at age 24 when he applied for a diamond setter job at at Tiffany's. He worked at Tiffany's for two years and since then has held several jobs as a stone setter and jeweler. Will enjoys the tactile aspects of jewelry making: working with his hands, understanding how things are put together, and creating fine details in his pieces. In his work for JMD, Will takes jewelry from a raw casting and turns it into a finished piece complete with stones, engravings, and other details that make each custom job unique. |
